The Inspiration for this Hand Dyed Yarn:
Hill Top Farm, Beatrix Potter's beloved home is nestled in the rolling Cumbrian landscape. As you walk up the path towards the cottage, rabbits nibble on the sweet grass in the orchard, quite at home with the visitors strolling past. The garden is filled with foxgloves, hollyhocks and a myriad of other typically English cottage garden flowers. The landscape surrounding Hill Top is simply beautiful and I can almost imagine Miss Potter stepping out with her sketchbook and paintbox, perhaps to meet with Miss Tiggy-Winkle or perhaps the mischievous Peter Rabbit. I like to picture her sitting in a meadow, or perhaps on the side of a Cumbrian hill painting, perhaps she gets caught in an afternoon rain shower and as she quickly packs away her paints and sketchbook to hurry on home, the raindrops fall on her open paintbox and the colours softly run into each other.
My yarn bases come from a local supplier who prides itself in sourcing its fibre from reliable suppliers with best practices with regards to animal husbandry and the environment, something that is very important to me. I use acid dyes unless otherwise stated.
Disclaimer: I wash all my yarn with wool wash which may aggravate skins that are sensitive to such products. Darker colours may run, bleed or transfer and although I take every precaution to ensure colour fastness I cannot be held responsible for any damage caused by colour transfer or bleeding in a wash. Please ensure to follow the recommended washing instructions below.
Washing Instructions: Cool Hand Wash recommended. Wash separately
